Employees at the Morgan Motor Company have always been considered special, and are referred to by Morgan owners the world over as members of the Morgan “family”, a description illustrated perfectly by the support given recently to employee Thom Donaldson. Following a serious accident outside of the work place in 2006, Thom, who had only recently joined as an apprentice in the trim department was left with only limited movement. He now relies on a powered wheelchair for mobility. Continue Reading »

“Walk into a Morgan dealership there are fewer than 100 worldwide and you will not find a new Aero 8 available for immediate delivery. In fact you will be lucky to get your new car in less than a year, which means that buying a used one could be your only option if instant gratification is your thing. Not that a second-hand example will be particularly cheap. With a list price when new of about £55,000 a three-year-old example with a few thousand miles on the clock will still cost you about £42,000.” The Times - Full Review
“Each is still built in the UK – the Bentley at Crewe, Cheshire, the Morgan at Malvern in Worcestershire – and both remain true to their original philosophy. The GTC, which is based on the Continental GT coupé, is a luxurious yet sporting grand tourer, the two-seat Aero 8 a traditional lightweight roadster with modern underpinnings” AutoExpress - Full Review

According to a spokesman from QinetiQ, the Morgan LIFECar project is scheduled for completion toward the end of 2007, early 2008. The LIFECar is based on Morgan’s Aero Eight and powered by a fuel cell, which converts hydrogen and oxygen into electricity with only water as a waste product. Morgan Motor Cars, QinetiQ, Cranfield University, Oxford University and BOC are participating in the LIFECar project.
“On the plus side, full US-type approval means the Aero now has two airbags, not to mention cruise control, a tyre pressure monitor and a heated element windscreen. Soundproofing has been improved and even Bentley could learn a lesson or two from Morgan’s craftsmen – the wood and turned aluminium dash is a work of art” AutoExpress - Full Review
“The result is a ride that’s remarkably comfortable over bumps despite the standard 20-inch alloys. What’s more, the steering is very well tuned, reinforcing the capabilities of the chassis and suspension by offering plenty of feedback. Adding to the driver appeal is an excellent seating position: you sit with your legs straight, if a little offset in this left-hand-drive model, while the steering wheel is borrowed from Aston Martin. Although it’s grown a fixed roof, the AeroMax still tips the scales at a relatively lightweight 1,150kg, so it feels nimble with that meaty BMW V8 up front, driving the rear wheels. At idle, the engine sounds great through the side-exit exhausts” AutoExpress - Full Review
