Jaguar’s XF gets the Loder1899 treatment!

60 years ago today, a motoring icon made its public debut, when the original Land Rover was shown at a motor show in Amsterdam, on April 30, 1948. The current Defender is clearly descended from that first vehicle, known as a Series 1. Extraordinarily, they even share a couple of original parts, an oil filler plug and a cleat for tying down the canvas roof. But the rest of the vehicle technology has moved on considerably. A Bentley Motors apprentice team has won a special “Spirit of Greenpower” award for its performance in the Greenpower Corporate Challenge which took place at Goodwood race circuit yesterday. The Bentley apprentice team designed, engineered and built the electric powered car which they entered into the Greenpower Challenge as well as a season of “F24+” racing. The Bentley Greenpower car is called Continental DC (Direct Current) and runs off a 24-volt motor supplied by two 12-volt batteries. Continue Reading »

After eight long years in development and many trials and tribulations, new British car manufacturer Keating Supercars finally unveiled their SKR and TKR supercars rather patriotically today on St Georges Day, 23rd April.

The Aston Martin Racing team, which will race in the iconic blue and orange colours of Gulf, has announced its driver line-up for the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.
Following an historic GT1 class victory at the endurance classic last year, the 2008 line-up is once again an exciting blend of youth and experience, with four new drivers joining two members of the winning crew from last year.
